The Boy Who Cried Wolf in English

Once, there was a young shepherd kid who used to take his group of sheep to the hill to hunt for grass. Sitting there, he had absolutely nothing to do the entire day. Eventually, a prank struck him. To kill his boredom, he shouted, "Wolf! Wolf!" All the village people came running with their sticks but to their embarrassment found no wolf! The kid chuckled.

Once more after few days, he screamed, "Wolf! Wolf!" and again the villagers came running up only to discover that the young shepherd boy had actually fooled them. Realising that he had succeeded in deceiving them once more he started laughing. Now, the villagers became angry and warned him that the next time when he calls them, they would not come.

After few days when his sheeps were grazing, he saw a big fearsome wolf. He screamed "Wolf! Wolf!" But this time nobody came to rescue his sheep. The young shepherd boy returned crying only with a few of his lambs. The wolf had actually taken away many of his lambs. From that day onwards, he promised never ever to fool anybody.
