Hiralal was a very industrious merchant. He worked diligently all day long. Whatever profit he made from his work, he would bundle it up in a bag and go home in the evening. The bag contained all the money he had earned during the day. In his house, he stored the day's earnings in a box.

The box would be kept away from his bed. Every day Hiralal kept a bundle of his money in that box and kept it safe. Every night he slept with the key underneath his pillow. His box contained a lot of money.
Hiralal awoke one morning to discover that his box had been unlocked and the key under his pillow had been stolen. Immediately getting up, he opened the box. As soon as the box was opened he was stunned. It didn't contain any money. When Hiralal was faced with such a dilemma, he called out to his soldiers, "Soldiers! Soldiers! Come here immediately."
As soon as the soldier heard Hiralal's voice, he came over and asked, "What happened?
Hiralal asked, "Did you see anyone come and go last night?".
screwed." Hiralal cried to the soldier.
Then the soldier said to Hiralal, "Don't worry, you can seek help from Emperor Akbar. I am certain he will be able to help you."
"Yes, you are absolutely right. I will go to Emperor Akbar immediately."
After this, Hiralal immediately arrived at Emperor Akbar's court and told the emperor everything.
Akbar listened to what he had to say and the emperor began to wonder who had committed the theft. Then he said to Hiralal, "Don't worry Hiralal. We will definitely solve your problem as soon as possible."
The emperor then ordered Birbal, "Birbal, you will solve Hiralal's problem and find out who committed the theft."
Yes, Huzoor Birbal said.
After this, Birbal asked Hiralal a few questions. Do you have any doubts about your servants? Do you have any suspects?"
Upon hearing this question, He replied to Birbal. They have served me for many years and they are very loyal. I do not believe they have committed any kind of theft."
Emperor Akbar sat and listened to all these things. Then he asked Birbal a question, "Birbal, there is no clue and there are no witnesses, can you catch the thief?"
Yes, Hazur, but I need an hour. I will return to this assembly in one hour." Birbal told the
emperor. "
After this, Birbal again told Hiralal that he would meet the soldiers and servants here exactly one hour later, Birbal came to the court with a stick in his hand. He said to Badshah Akbar, "Hujur, this is a real magic stick in my hand. These magic sticks are very powerful. I have done many things in the past and also found many thieves with the help of these magic sticks. That is why I am using it today as well." Having said this, Birbal gave each servant and soldier a stick in their hands. Birbal told everyone that whoever would be the thief, his rod would grow one inch in size the next day, and then he would know who the thief was by looking at the stick.
Hearing this, Emperor Akbar asked Birbal, "Birbal, do you really want to do this?
Yes, I believe we will find the thief by tomorrow."
Everyone left the court after this and returned the following day. Hiralal's servants and
soldiers and Hiralal were there too. Birbal took the stick from the servants and soldiers. Afterward, Birbal said, “The thief is the soldier because the stick he is holding is one inch smaller”. He cut his stick one inch smaller because he thought it would become one inch bigger."
As soon as the soldier heard this, he fell to his knees and begged Emperor Akbar. I haven't spent that money yet. I will give it all back to my boss.
And this is how Birbal discovered the thief. Seeing Birbal’s wit, Emperor Akbar praised him and said to him “You are my gem because of you we have solved many problems”
Moral: With wit you can solve any problem.
